School Council

Fort Royal School has an active School Council who meet regularly to solve problems, come up with new initiatives, create lunchtime clubs, carry out surveys and ensure there are fun ‘whole school hullabaloos’ going on throughout the year to mark celebrations and raise money for good causes.

The School Council is led by:

  • Vanessa Scott - Assistant Headteacher

  • Emma Thompson – Class Teacher

  • Margaret Jones – Grants Administrator

The children on the School Council for the year 2018-2019 are:

  • Ismaeel Class 1
  • Philip Class 3
  • Kesley Class 5
  • Dominic Class 8
  • Elijah Class 10
  • Charlie Class 12
  • Taylor Class 13
  • Bede  Class 16
  • Will    Class 17
  • Eliott  Class 18
  • Harry Class 20
  • Emma Class 21

At the start of each academic year, the children in each class nominate somebody to represent them on the council. Then, each Key Stage holds an election where children vote for the two children they want to see on the School Council. The votes are then counted, and verified! The new School Council members are given a certificate and School Council lanyard – which they love wearing on official business!

Fort Royal School Council meet every half term. The agenda and minutes can be seen on our School Council notice board in school and each year we produce a big book of our achievements over the past year.

If you would like to be involved in the school council in any way or would just like more information about our work, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the staff members above.
See below to view the agenda and minutes from the previous school council meeting.
