A NOTE FROM OUR HEADTEACHER

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of our first month back at school, I would like to thank all of our children, families and staff for making such a positive start to the new school year. There is a real sense of energy and enthusiasm across the school, and we are looking forward to sharing many more opportunities for families to join us in celebrating and supporting our children's achievements throughout the year.

Seesaw Update

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to Seesaw. If you have not yet done so, please remember to register so that you can receive daily updates about your child and important school information. Please call or come into the school office if you want any support setting up or accessing your SeeSaw account. We would also welcome your feedback on Seesaw. Please use the parent/carer feedback QR code to share your thoughts and experiences. Your feedback will help us continue to improve communication between home and school.

Parent Governor Vacancy

We currently have a Parent Governor vacancy on our Governing Body. Becoming a governor is a rewarding opportunity to support the strategic direction of the school and contribute to its continued success. If you are interested in finding out more about the role, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with the Chair of Governors Emma Evans and myself. We would be delighted to discuss what is involved and answer any questions you may have.

CLASS 3

We have had a fantastic start to the year, we are incredibly proud of how well the children have settled into their new classroom and routines.

In literacy, we have been exploring ‘Things I Like’ by Anthony Browne, using props and objects to support exploration and communication of likes and preferences.

In maths, the children have enthusiastically joined in with counting songs and number rhymes, including ‘Five Little Ducks’ and ‘Five Speckled Frogs’, developing their counting through singing and actions.

In topic, we have explored Cubism and created some wonderful artwork using collage, painting, sculpture and mark making.

It has been lovely to see the children growing in confidence, building relationships and enjoying new experiences. What a wonderful start!

 

CLASS 7

We have been exploring the story Five Minutes' Peace.

We have been acting out and role-playing the main characters, responding to others through talking, and creating playdough models of the characters.

We have also been learning about counting and numbers. Some of the students have been estimating and predicting numbers, then checking their answers by counting.
